Zzzleep Exhaustion

This week I was able to participate in an event for youth students called a Disciple Now. DNows, as they are more commonly called, are very common during the Spring semester for youth groups. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve at a few of them this semester and this week I participated in one at First Baptist Church of Happy Texas.

Typically this event is a three day event starting Friday afternoon and ending Sunday after the morning church service. The night before the event I barely slept and was already tired throughout the day, but somehow was not tired that afternoon for the event. Yet when I got back to my dorm room I felt exhausted and still needed to finish some homework before midnight so I powered through and finished it with all the energy I had left in me. I immediately fell asleep that night when my head hit the pillow and due to my sleep debt, I missed many of my alarms to wake up the next morning and woke up at the time that we were suppose to leave!

That same day when we were given free-time, I took a two hour nap and was able to go through the rest of the day! When I later returned that night, I immediately decided to go to bed early and upon waking up the next morning I realized, like countless amounts of other times, that going to bed early indeed resulted in better sleep! Yet I rarely go to bed early which I am trying to improve on as time goes on, but it definitely will take a lot on my part which I am beginning to put more effort into!
